In many courses, you will be asked to prepare an annotated bibliography to assist you in preparing key assignments. An annotated bibliography is a writing and research tool that you want to master because it allows you to record important information in a concise and scholarly way quickly. Begin this process by reading about annotated bibliographies in the Conducting Research and Forms of Writing sections in the Northcentral Academic Success Center (click the links in the left side navigation area of the ASC screen). This activity takes you to another critical step as a researcher and academic scholar: how to evaluate the merits of research materials. This includes understanding the whys behind an article, who the authors are and their expertise, and analyzing the organizational flow and content. Assignment For this assignment, you will perform a search for five resources in a chosen topic area related to forensic psychology. Some example topics include eyewitness testimony, competency evaluation, psychopathy, risk assessment, treatment in correctional facilities, or the development of juvenile delinquency. You may want to include sources that reflect the history of research on your area of interest so you can consider how this area has developed in the field of forensic psychology. Using the guidelines and resources you have reviewed this week, create an Annotated Bibliography focused on five sources. Provide either a copy of each article or a link to the article for your instructor as well. Length: 5 entries – approximately 4-5 pages Your Annotated Bibliography should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
