2) Form – use your best judgement to determine what would be the form, using the terms below. Complete the timeline first and use this section as a summary of the form of the song.

Intro – introduction
Verse – a section that features new lyrics with each repetition within a song
Chorus – a section that features the same lyrics with each repetition within a song
Instrumental Verse or Chorus – please specify if this section is instrumental based on the verse and chorus of the song
AABA sections – use A sections and B sections only if it is in AABA form
Bridge / Interlude (could be instrumental or vocal) – while the two terms can be used interchangeably, bridge can be the B section of AABA form, providing contrasting melody/music to the A section (which we also call theme). A bridge can also be a brief section following the verse and chorus of the song. Interlude has similar function, but often associate with musical materials that are drawn from the introduction
Outro / Coda – the ending section
3) Time Signature (or meter) – List the time signature and describe whether it is fast, moderate or slow. Use the meter guide on p.11 of “What’s That Sound?” textbook.

4) Instrumentation – Identify the instruments that are used in the tune.

5) Timeline – similar to the book, list all events and details below. Once a section is identified, try to find out how many measures (mm.) that each section contains. Write about things that occur under “Description.” Things to mention in description – lyrics, musical materials (reoccurrence), instrumentation or instrument(s), vocal techniques, expression, recording techniques, etc.
