Using the interview data provided in the attached file, conduct a second round of coding, as a second part of the attached first assignment.
The attached first assignment also provides the format for the second assignment. The interview data is located in the Appendix section of the first assignment.
The second round of coding allows you to move from multiple codes in the first round to a more informative set of themes and/or a narrative. This round is more thematic and less concerned with mere data organization.
With the data collected through the interview assignment, write a paper that includes the following:
The step-by-step process that was taken during the second round of coding, and justifications for each step/decision taken; use the readings and other available literature to support each point.
A brief outline of the codes/themes that resulted from the second coding process and how these differed from your results in the first round.
A brief discussion on the challenges encountered and limitations discovered and what could be done in future research projects to minimize the challenges and limitations.
A brief discussion on the positive aspects of the coding and results you obtained.
Include your interview guide and transcripts as appendices.
Length: 3 pages, not including title page and references or appendices.
APA Format, PhD Quality Material
Once data are collected, the analytical process begins. First data is processed: reviewed, sorted, and organized. Data may be processed and loaded into a software program to assist in analysis, or the researcher may complete the analysis manually. In either case, a set of prescribed steps are followed. Two example of models for analysis are: Yin’s (2011) five-step process and Moustakas’s (1994) method of data analysis, which is a modification of van Kaam’s method of analyzing phenomenological data (Burnette, Sanders, Butcher, & Salois, 2011). According to Burnette et al. (2011), Moustakas’s guideline approach method of data analysis involves the following seven steps:
Following a similar process helps ensures that data management and data analysis is systematic, thoughtful, and reflective of the participant voices.
