Discussion Board Posting (3 points): The focus this week is to practice, practice, practice writing a PICOT question, so it becomes second nature. By honing skills in writing a PICOT question, the clinical/administrative issue will be well defined and the search for evidence will be more successful. Each component of the PICOT question must be clearly articulated. No duplicate PICOT questions. Instructor will approve the PICOT question. · Formulate a patient-centered-PICOT question using theinterventionformat found inBox 2.2 on page 44 of the text ü Each of the three replies to classmates should be a critique of the structureof the PICOT question. Is it in the correct PICOT format? Is the question specific enough? Is the patient population specific? Is the intervention a nursing intervention? Are there too many outcomes? Does the question make sense? Provide colleagues with suggestion on how to improve the PICOT question. No medical interventions! · Discuss one (1) strategy a master’s prepared nurse could do to cultivate a spirit of inquiry to overcome barriers from colleagues who are resistant in pursing the PICOT intervention

Step one (1) of the evidence-base practice (EBP) process is to formulate a burning PICOT question. Step two searches for the best evidence by considering the elements of the PICOT question.
