- The group project will consist of two parts: Group Report (10%) and Group Presentation[2] (10%).
- Your task is to write a report explaining HOW THE RECENT SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19) HAS AFFECTED THE “MONEY AND BANKING” ASPECT OF OUR LIVES.
- Since the topic is quite broad, you can choose to include any material in your report as long as it is relevant to the BECN 250 Money and Banking course. You can certainly talk about some the actions that both the central and commercial banks around the world have taken as part of their response to the onset of COVID-19 (among other topics).
- Our selected subject is on the continent of Europe
- Your task is to write a report of 2,500 words (±10%). This makes it about 500 words per each group member. If you wish to include any information that would take you above the prescribed word limit, you can place it into the Appendix at the end of the report. Marks will be deducted for surpassing the word limit by more than 10% on either side. To avoid losing marks, you can include any tables, graphs, attachments in the Appendix section. The last section of your report should be called References.
- Important! Your report should include at least 5 academic references[3] (i.e. scientific journals, textbooks, etc.) and as many non-academic references (i.e. websites, magazines, brochures, interviews, etc.) as you wish to use. The reference list must be presented in an alphabetical order and placed on the last page of the report. Please note that this is usually the section where students most often lose marks.
- Each group member will also need to separately submit a memorandum outlining the details and percentage of contribution that s/he and all others team members have made to this project. For example:
- Thomas Edison (Student ID #123) wrote the concluding remarks and organized the references section of the report. Overall contribution: 20%.
- Alina Maydybura (Student ID #456) wrote the introduction section and provided the research findings from five academic sources. Overall contribution: 25%.
etc. – for each group member in your team
- Since we are 5 members in the group, please distribute this project into 5 parts each with different percentage of contribution varying from 20% to 25%

[1] Any deadlines in this document are subject to change in line with any possible amendments in the UD Academic Calendar 2019-20.
[2] However, if due to the current COVID-19 situation, we will not be able to have the face-to-face in-class presentations, then the entire 20% will go toward the weight of the Group Report.
[3] If unsure, please ask your professor to give you a sample of academic references. I can’t stress this enough but experience shows that this usually is where most students lose marks.
