The objectives of the review will be to:
1) Identify the primary active ingredients and amounts of each ingredient in one serving.
2) Recognize and report the target audience of the supplement. (what type of athletes can use it).
3) List any health or structure/function claims made on the label. Ex. of Health claims (calcium and
osteoporosis)(folic acid and NTD) approved by the FDA. Ex. of structure/function claims (calcium builds strong bones)
not approved by the FDA
4) Look at the evidence behind the validity of the claims- especially as it relates to the target audience and the
amount contained in one serving of your supplement.( use three articles and test the claims)
5) AIDress any potential risks of any of the ingredients.
6) Is the supplement (or any ingredients in your supplement) part of the Dirty Dozen?
7) List at least 1 other supplements with similar ingredients, claims, and target audience.
