In these modern days, the concept of globalization has been embedded across nations. The idea of borders becomes vague. The countries need to regulate some policies to benefit from globalization and to adapt to the international order First. The government needs to change its economy to a more liberalized form to integrate with the global economy. Countries need to be able to make trades with other countries. The government also needs to pass more bills regarding business, finance, industrial sectors, even labor policies. The state government should also focus more on regional policies to increase the economic and political connection between countries. For instance, The Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the People’s Republic of China, Japan, South Korea (ASEAN+3) is a regional organization that promotes economic growth through trade, business, and finance.

2.000 years ago India was recognized as one of the richest countries in the world. The country’s share of global gross domestic product (GDP) was around fifty percent. On August 15, 1947, India under Jawaharlal Nehru declared independence from colonial rule. He then became India’s first prime minister. Before that, India has always followed a non-industrial economic system and agriculture was its main source of income. India and other South Asian countries at that time did not have any knowledge about the free market and commerce before in an era where globalization and industrialisation was already at its peak. Because many of those countries have not fully adapted with the global economy, so those nations struggled financially and there was a rapid increase in poverty. By 1950, India’s GDP had plummeted to only having eight percent of the share. However, later then the Indian state government tried different methods to carve a path for economic growth. The government started to expand its reach and liberalize its economy after the mid 1980s and the beginning of 1990s.  Jawaharlal Nehru believed that participating in the global economy, as the free market or allowing foreign leading to industrialization, is the way to deal with the poverty issue in India. The method was proven to be effective By the year 1998 the GDP  had risen to and still continued to rise till twenty one percent of the share in 2005. South Asian countries are always known for their vast amounts of natural resources. The Indian government took that chance and started imposing tariffs for agricultural export deals and focusing more on local industries. Other South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan, and Nepal also tried to integrate into the global economy.

Now many South Asian countries had developed so far compared to before. Some countries had adopted a democratic style of the institution, a poverty rate that has majorly reduced and improved the citizens’ quality of life. Not only that, many countries, specifically India, had gained more status in the International order. For instance, India has been considered a global competition in terms of technological, telecommunications, and medical information. India has also become one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. India is continuing to play a more prominent role in the International order economy, and other South Asian countries also have become more dependent on the global economy.

Globalization is known to have many benefits toward the nations. When India opened its economy it led to several opportunities for the country to thrive. For instance, participating in international trade, allowing foreign investments, and even accumulating resources that could contribute to increasing economic efficiency.
