Response Paper for Death On the Nile
We will work on Agatha Christie’s Death On the Nile on June 1st and 2nd. We will
discuss the novel and see a film on it. Also, there will be a 500 word response paper
which will count 20% toward a student’s final grade. These papers will be due on Friday,
June 5.. Below is the format for this Response Paper.
The following criteria will be used for grading the Response Paper. The paper will be
graded on a scale of 100 points. Each section of the paper will count 25 points toward the
final grade. In order to receive full credit for Question I, students must discuss all of the
characters that appear in the novel. Also, they must discuss the plot in detail. They should
mention the four major settings in the novel, and, at least, one theme of the novel should
be discussed. To effectively answer Question #2, students should provide quotes from the
novel or film as part of their answer. Questions #3 and #4 should be answered by using
specifics and details from the Novel or film. In addition, to the subject matter, I will also
take into account: grammar, spelling and punctuation when I grade your paper.

discuss the symbolic implications of the setting and the characters.
