ANALYSIS ON FILMS

The film about Billy Elliot
Billy Elliot is a film that gives a story of Billy with his other family members and was
written, directed, and produced by Lee Hall, Stephen Daldry, and Greg Brenman Jon Finn
respectfully. I found the movie much interesting for it shows the power of personal decision.
After watching the film, I have learned that I should not allow what surrounds me to hinder me
from reaching my heart desire. Similarly, the movie is more significant for it discourages parents
who force their children to follow parents will instead of following their heart desires. This
movie has been well structured, and one can directly get the message as it is released, which has
made my viewing more educational. The other aspect that has won my interest in the film is the
comic part. This movie is full of comedy, making it more exciting and I would advise any person
who likes educative comedies to have a view of the film.
The film about the farewell
A farewell is an American comedy written and directed by Lulu Wang. After watching
the film, I have found it being so much interesting more so when I see how the family pan a fake
wedding. From my analysis, the movies serve its purpose of giving a farewell message even
though in a hidden way. I also like the comeback that has taken place, for one can learn that even
if you decide to move from your homeland, eventually, you will need to be back at one time or
the other. Nevertheless, the movie fails to indicate the main reason why Bill is coming back to
New York, a thing that made the view to be left hanging at some point. To summerlike my
opinions on the movie, I would advise anyone who would wish to watch how best farewell
parties should be planned to watch the film.
Film about Poltergeist
ANALYSIS ON FILMS
3
Poltergeist is an American supernatural horror movie written in 1982 by Steven
Spielberg, and Tobe Hooper is its director. This movie is so much scaring, and I would not
advise children or any adult who is affected by viewing wicked acts to watch it. However, from
the movie, I got to learn the importance of holding to my morals and cultural beliefs. In some
instances, actions that took place in the film appear so fresh in my mind a thing that most
disturbs me. This leads to more fear, and I would not wish to introduce any other person to such
a situation. Nevertheless, the movie is entertaining to some points and gives tactics on how to
eliminate fear in oneself.
Film Eighth Grade
Eighth Grade is an American coming of age comedy written and directed by Bo
Burnham. From the movie, I have learned how to deal with adolescent as a stage which would
help in relating to the teen. I found this move more educational, and I would advise all teens,
parents, and teachers to watch it for it would be of significant help. Eight grade films are an
educative movie that, through watching it, one can understand teens following their way of
conduct. Besides being educative, the movie is full of comedy, which makes it more attractive to
me, for I like comic acts. If you have not yet watched the movie, I would advise you to do it for a
lot is shown in it.

Reaction to Foreign Film Clips
I believe foreign films address the current issues affecting their societies, and they are more
realistic compared to American films. In the analysis of the following foreign films, The Hunt,
Paradise Now, Tsotsi, Wild Tales, Roma, Y Tu Mama Tambien, and Parasite, there
is a considerable difference compared to the American films. Foreign films focus on specific
social, political, religious decency, economic, or cultural issues affecting their societies. For
instance, in this movie Tsotsi, racial and ethnic conflicts that have been happening in South
Africa is reflected upon. Paradise Now as a film has focused on political conflict between two
countries that threatens humanity through terrorism. Foreign films touch on current issues facing
their society, such as social class issues, corruption, political conflicts, and racial or ethnic
conflicts. Finally, foreign films expound on how the problems trouble their society, showcasing
pragmatism in every scene plotted.
Reaction to Indie Film Clips
Indie film clips have also showcased more pragmatism of societal issues compared to
American films. In the analysis of this movie, Y Tu Mama Tambien, social problems have been
displayed and how they affect the society at large. Sexuality is seen to be something usual in this
movie, which I am certain, is unlikely to be seen in American films. Moreover, I realized that
culture is maintained in indie films despite the language setting used in the movie. Finally, in indie
films, the main themes are focused in-depth, unlike in American cinema, where several film
threads are used to develop themes. In my opinion, Indie film clips have surpassed American films
when it comes to displaying social problems in society. The main reason is that they integrate
societal issues in movies, and they maintain realism.

Explanation of the Recent National Movements-1959 Reading
After analyzing this reading, I outlined several facts regarding film-making in countries
and regions that focused on national movements. In the analysis of this reading, it is evident that
numerous continents and countries have struggled to be on the global cinematic ratings. Latin
America or South America, Africa, Iran, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia have struggled film
making. The most vital issue that has been raised in this reading is that Latin America and African
films majorly focused on national liberations. It is because their countries were faced with diverse
political conflicts; hence, most of the movie focused on these issues. The same applies to Iran,
which has been faced with political disputes and religious matters. New Zealand, Canada, and
Australia films have also focused on soviet liberations, national movements, and traditions.
Therefore, most of the global films in these regions focused on national liberations and their social
customs.
Explanation of the Film and Ideology Reading
The main focus of this reading is about the relationship between film and cultural context
ideologies. I support the sentiments shared in this article because the integration of cultural context
in films is what makes them epic. The author has idealized that films can focus on gender, social
class, sexuality, racial disparity, and national identity, incorporate all of them. However, some
movie tops others because they focus on the current social issues in society, such as class mobility
and national identity. Still, targeting the feelings of the audience must be advocated in such cases.
Lastly, the author has articulated that the organizing principle of films must respect the culture,
despite showcasing societal issues. Therefore, I believe the film ideology of focusing on a specific
social issue and making them pragmatic should be articulated in American films.
