Discussion Prompt
DISCUSSION TITLE: OVERFLOW DETECTION IN TWO’S COMPLEMENT ARITHMETIC OPERATION
In this discuss, judge the following statement true or false. You need to explain your conclusion from binary arithmetic operation aspects.
When performing the addition of one positive number and one negative number in two’s complement data representation, the carry to the sign bit is always equal to the carry from the sign bit. Therefore, no overflow can be detected when one positive number is added to one negative number.
