University of Central Florida Racing Cars Equations Report Provide a report with all the equations, assumptions, plots, excel spreadsheet, or MATLAB
program, if any, to solve the problem. The report need NOT be typed and can be hand-written
if legible and clear enough to follow.
Problem:
A race car of weight W = 1800 lb moves at a constant speed v along a banked turn on a track that has
a radius of curvature of 1100 ft and the bank angle of θ = 34˚. Determine the maximum value of the
speed so that the car does not slide on the track as a function of the static coefficient of friction. Show
the results on a graph with the speed and the coefficient of statics friction on the vertical and
horizontal axes, respectively.
