Description
(1) The failure of ‘the Doha Development Agenda’, which was launched in 2001, division over the adoption of new negotiation issues, and the weakening of the dispute settlement function has raised concerns about the validity of the WTO. Amid such a weakening of the WTO-based multilateral trading system, there is a growing movement to form a new international trade order through regional trade agreements. In this regard, 1) Identify the major limitation or challenges that the current WTO system is facing to meet the new trade environment, and 2) Introduce the reform measures to respond to such problems proposed by observers (experts).
