Background: Information of the Company
InfoTech Company is an innovative company that has been funded by a capital group and
deals with collection and data analysis. The company has been in operation for less than two years.
The company is intending to increase its growth by 20% within one years’ time. However, the
growth will only be realized if the current information systems are redesigned to fit the
functionalities of the organization. As a result, the organization has hired a CIO who will analyze
and submit the project plan in order to upgrade the system. An effective specification for a new
information system will be developed and implemented to fit the organizational needs. As the
chief information officer, I will submit a project plan in 60 days that will create an information
technology project plan that will anticipate acquisition of a new system.
The type of business in which the company is involved
InfoTech Company is currently involved in the collection and doing data analysis. The
company also monitors the people who have visited the site, check if customers followed the
correct link or they used any certain keywords to visit the site. They also make use of web
analytics to measure and analyze concrete data that can be tiresome.
Information systems description
As the CIO, I will come up with a new plan for the system that will be more
advanced as compared to the previous one. The system will accommodate new features that
will promote enhance security of the system. User logins credentials will require one-time
pin to promote security of their personal information such as bank related information and
their trip details.

As an open source, Bigdata technology will be used in this perspective to support huge
data and volume of the incoming data and handle analytics more efficiently. Moreover, the
company will be involved in different activities that need to be supported by this system.
Systems Analysis
Prototype or Rapid Application development methodology will be used for system
analysis. The Waterfall method will be convenient in this perspective to develop the system
even though its pretty serial. For example, when there is a major change requirement for the
stakeholders, it will be challenging to accommodate. Thus, scrum development or rapid
application development will enable the creation of the prototype application at a fast rate.
Therefore, a new version of the application can be delivered with few weeks of starting the
development. This will enable the users of the system to be able to access the application as it
takes shape. The users will have a picture of what they will get from the project which will
promote feedback during development. In scrum development, user stories or the user views are
considered as the input to design the application.
Security
Security play integral part not only for the system but also in our today’s business
environment. Security is essential to protect personal data due to the increased cases of fraud,
cybercrime among other issues. The web application will be safeguarded from these attacks by
enhancing security features. The data will be encrypted so that it will not be helpful to the
intruders when they steal the data. automatic updates will be enhanced to ensure the system is up
to date which can prevent any malware and spyware affecting the website.

Networking
Best practices for setting up the network will be considered. For example, CISCI packet
tracer packages will be vital. CISCO routers will be used while the company will have a Web
Server to host its applications and website. Public domains will be provided to ensure the system
is visible to the public. Employees will access the network through Wireless Linksys routers.
Computer Infrastructure
High availability and failover servers will be used to ensure the website is accessible and
that the users can access the system when they need to collect or evaluate data.
Human computer interaction
The users will be trained on how to use the system. They should understand the different
features and how they can login into the system. They will also be taught how they can safely
use their computers to avoid security issues. The system will have a mobile version initiated. The
app can be downloaded on mobile devices and can be accessed anytime.
Web design
The website will be designed by use of HTML5 and JavaScript. The website content will
be dynamic in nature and the users will be able to create profile. The site can be linked to any
social media site User profile data can be imported like an address if the client permits.
Innovative and more appealing features will be initiated on the website.
