Each student will write a 6-10 page written paper regarding beginning level competency in the following areas.

As a Christian in training for the profession of social work, it is important to consider what the Bible says about social work competencies.For the purpose of this paper, the following will be included:

The student considered 3-4 Biblical examples from the Bible where structures oppressed, marginalized, alienated, or created or enhanced privilege and power.
The students cited Bible verses explaining the context of these verses with the help of an additional source.
The student used these Biblical examples to explain how differences impact the life experiences of these individuals.
The student considered 3-4 contemporary examples to show how present-day structures and values oppress, marginalize, alienate, and create or enhance privilege and power.
The student used research to back up their examples.
The student used these contemporary examples to explain how differences impact the life experiences of these individuals.
The student elaborated on how they can personally learn from those who are different from themselves.
The student was self-reflective and considered their own biases and values when working with diverse groups, naming at least 2 areas of difficulty.
The student discussed what they have done (if anything) to help eliminate the influences of these biases and values as well as what they plan to do.
The student discussed the importance of eliminating these influences from a Biblical perspective.
The student used proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling, including:
The student properly cited at least 3 sources, in addition to the Bible, in APA format.
The paper was the proper length of at least 6 pages, but no more than 10 pages.

This is worth 220 points of your final grade.
