STR 581 University of Phoenix Week 5 Ayi Acuity Brands Inc Strategic Plan & PPT Create the Final Strategic Plan. The Final Strategic Plan contains the elements of all the previous weeks’ components and incorporates instructor feedback, with three additional new elements that are highlighted in bold below. Your grade for Week 6 will be based only on the three new elements, and whether you submitted your entire Strategic Plan. All material in your plan from previous weeks was already graded, so grading again would place “double jeopardy” on a student by potentially subtracting points twice for the same error. However, there will be a deduction if you do not submit your full Strategic Plan.

(“Business: The Major Elements of the Strategic Management Process,” n.d.). Situation

The second component is the strategy formulation. It is the process of designing and
developing strategies that can be used by a company. Formulation of strategies can be broken
down into three strategies: corporate, competitive and operational. Operational strategies are
short term and vary across various departments. These departments include finance,
marketing, human resources, and production. Competitive strategies are those that a company
can use to compete against other businesses. Corporate strategies are long term objectives
that the company hopes to meet. Ayi Acuity Brands Inc has various strategies that it hopes to
implement. First, the company hopes to maintain environmental excellence. The company
also aims to reduce its carbon footprint. Lastly, it also hopes to increase its revenue.
Strategy implementation involves enforcing the strategies. It involves identifying the
steps, procedures and methods that can be used to implement the strategies. It can also be
used to identify which strategy should be executed first. They are ranked based on the need of
the company. For example, the company should first focus on the worst problems. According
to the company, the worst tragedy is environmental pollution. It may affect their business
operations and existence. To prevent this tragedy, the company has come up with various
steps that can be used to prevent such an occurrence. They include identifying, monitoring
and reducing the emission of hazardous waste to the environment, conserving resources that
are available—mitigating the potential consequences that can be caused by environmental
conditions in the company—communicating environment information to interested
shareholders.

strategy has been implemented. The strategy should meet the deadlines set. It should also
meet the target. Ayi Acuity Brands Inc has not met some of its goals. The revenue increase
has not been met. The company also hopes to improve its environmental performance.

different periods (Sotiriadis, 2018). This company uses predictions of economic conditions to
conduct business in a manner that sustains profitability.

organization’s mission and vision. The corporate culture affects how workers behave and relate
both internally and externally with other stakeholders. The external environment consists of
factors that are not within the company’s ability to control, such as the economy, competition,
suppliers, customers, and investors. All these factors are relevant for scanning since they are part

develop sound strategies that make them more competitive.

Inc., Deco Enterprises, and Zumtobel Group AG, among others (Lighting, Controls, and
Building Management Solutions n.d.). Increased adoption of smart lighting used by smart cities
is also driving growth in this industry.
The company’s operating industry is highly competitive and uses modern technology to
provide solutions to customer needs. Companies in this industry are using the latest technology
to produce effective lighting systems that conserve energy. The government regulates this
industry to ensure that the only energy-efficient products get into the market. The government’s
role in this industry is evident when the state participates in campaigns for LED lighting. The
United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) also produced guidelines for energy-saving
lighting solutions to reduce carbon emissions. These factors, coupled with urbanization and
growth in the global economy, are causing a surge in demand for LED lighting, which indicates
that this industry will continue to grow in the coming years.
Changes in the business environment are inevitable. Organizations must continuously
create strategies that will enable them to survive in their various industries to enhance the
constant flow of profits. Therefore, Ayi Acuity Brands Inc. will experience continued growth
should it maintain a regular analysis of the internal and external environment. The company
should further generate strategies that will best enable it to attain its objectives of the provision
of quality lighting products for health care institutions.
