The paper itself is a research proposal, wherein you’ll introduce your topic, provide a brief literature review, and then pose a new-and-improved research question. Keep in mind that research proposals do not provide the answer to the question; rather, they are used to secure funding and begin the process of conducting research. If you’re unfamiliar with how to write a research proposal, read through the materials provided under the “Final” section of the course Moodle.
Your proposal should be roughly 1500 – 2000 words in length and should include a bibliography with at least five scholarly, peer-reviewed sources (you may draw upon sources that are not considered scholarly in order to put your emerging technology into context, but these should be in addition to your five scholarly sources, not in lieu of them). These scholarly sources should (with some exceptions) have been published in the last decade.
