As part of a consultancy firm, I have to first objectively analyse the current situation that the
bank is facing, and identify the problem. For ABC Bank, the series of scandals have revealed
that the underlying problem is the failure of culture. A good culture dictates the success of an
organisation, thus it is important for ABC Bank to turn over the wrong mindsets and introduces
a new language to all levels of employees. The strategic focus of the organisation has to be
shifted to improve social legitimacy. However, at the same time, ABC Bank must be able to
balance the interests of different stakeholders.
As a consultant, it is important to first analyse the problem of the company and thereafter
provide solutions in regards to the problems. As ABC Bank faces 3 major scandals which
greatly hit their brand reputation. From the scandals, it shows that the Banks does not have a
structured process and ethical culture within the organisation. Therefore it is important to first
identify the company culture and communicate the culture with the employees to ensure that
everyone has the common of the organisation’s culture and goals. Furthermore, I think the
failure of ethical leadership management could be one of the reasons misconduct of the
employees. Without proper leadership in the organisation, the employees do not know how
the proper procedure to perform their job effectively.
