Rasmussen College Curriculum Design Using a Sample IEP In this module you addressed the role of IEPs and the connection to designing curriculum for your class. For this assignment, you will use information from an IEP to design an activity that is developmentally appropriate for a child with a special need. In order to receive full credit, all parts of the assignment must be completed.

Part 1

Locate a blank IEP form online to complete for a child in your care, or for fictional child with a special need. Complete the IEP form, adding specific information to all areas on the form. If the child is from your classroom, please be sure to use a different name to protect the child’s privacy.

You can find an IEP form by searching online using key terms such as “IEP Form.” There are also state specific versions which you may find helpful for your own practice.

If you are using a fictional child, you may make up any information relevant to complete the form.

Part 2

Using the lesson plan template, create an activity which is developmentally appropriate for the child based on the information collected in Part 1. Complete all forms of the lesson plan.
