Purdue Global Ethical Dilemma in I O Psychology Profession Discussion Paper Please answer the question in the full detail in the attachment. APA standard is required with the necessary references. Psychology involves working with people in complex situations, in which ethical
dilemmas are common. You will encounter situations in which there may be multiple
response options that appear correct and/or that you could justify choosing based on
the APA Ethics Code. At times, adhering to one APA Ethical Standard may even appear
to violate another (Fisher, 2013). In this paper, you will analyze an ethical dilemma that
is common in your area of specialization and evaluate different response options.
In this paper, you should do the following:
a. Describe an ethical dilemma commonly faced by professionals in your area of
specialization. It could be an ethical dilemma that you have personally
experienced, observed, or learned about through researching ethical issues in
your specialization.
Note: Choose an example that is complex enough that it will allow you to apply
multiple ethical standards when analyzing it. You should feel free to elaborate in
a reasonable way to ensure that the ethical dilemma is detailed and complex
enough that you will be able to address each part of this examination question.
a. Identify and describe three response options that a psychology professional
could choose when faced with this ethical dilemma. Note, at least two of the
options should appear justifiable, considering the APA Ethics Code (either due to
their alignment with the General Principles and/or with the Ethical Standards).
Analyze the three response options using the following guidelines:
a. Identify and describe a minimum of three Ethical Standards from the APA
Ethics Code that relate to each response option. For example, if the
psychology professional chose the first option that you present, which
Ethical Standards would be relevant? Which would the professional be
adhering to or violating through that response option?
b. Evaluate the degree to which each response option aligns with the
General Principles outlined in the APA Ethics Code.
c. Evaluate the potential implications of each response option for all
stakeholders, including the psychology professional.

Summarize why you would make that choice.
c. Finally, evaluate how your personal and socio-cultural characteristics, values,
and beliefs may have influenced your analysis of these response options and

Other Requirements
You should apply APA Style formatting throughout your paper. Include a title page,
section headings, in-text citations, and a references page. Keep direct quotes to a
minimum. You should also include an introductory paragraph, thesis sentence, and
summary paragraph. (10 – 15 pages)
You should cite relevant empirical research and scholarly articles within psychology,
your concentration area and other related areas. You should cite a minimum
of seven peer-reviewed journal articles. You should carefully select sources after
reviewing the literature and evaluating the credibility, relevance, quality, and research
merit of each source.

minimum page length requirement, not including the title page or reference

number of primary, peer-reviewed academic sources to support conclusions
