Requirements Traceability
[Please describe how the team will track and manage requirements from requirements elicitation to
identifying project deliverable, WBS / project schedule development and scope change management.
[Hint: Review 100% rule]].
Requirements traceability process:
1. Define your goal
The first step in establishing a requirement traceability matrix is to define our goals. Before
creating the form file, the target helps us to track the matrix and collect the correct information.
For instance, in terms of fundraising program, we should establish a traceability matrix to ensure
that the funding processes and schedule meet the requirements. In the well-organized
traceability matrix, any changes in requirements can quickly understand and trace back to the
matters that may be affected.
2. Gather your artifact
Artifact should be defined based on your goal. Once you’ve defined the artifact, you will need
to list each requirement into unique requirements ID. And this ID should not be changed if you
reorder the requirements. In addition, you will need to track down your test cases. Regardless
tests are failed or success, you would be able to track their status any time.
A traceability matrix should include:
● requirements

4. Update the traceability matrix – Constantly
Once the traceability matrix is created, the project team and manager should keep updating this
tracking matrix from time to time, so that the requirements of the items in the archive are kept up to
date and executed correctly. During the development of the project, there will be changes in demand,
so it is very important to continuously update the project requirement traceability matrix.
