Political ideology

In your first essay of the semester you will analyze your political ideology and how it fits with the three political cultures addressed by Daniel Elazar (Moralistic Political Culture, Individualistic Political Culture, Traditionalistic Political Culture). Based on your self-analysis and analysis of political culture, explain why your belief system fits better in Texas or in the larger American context. Include in your essay a discussion of political culture, your political socialization and ideology, and any pertinent anecdotal evidence that may help clarify your position. A good paper will be analytical instead of descriptive.

I know that Texans are proud Americans (this paper is not about succession). Think about the traditions and political culture of Texas, your political belief system and compare them to your understanding of contemporary American political culture. Does your political perspective fit better within the smaller context of Texas or the larger context of the rest of the United States?
