Please follow the guidelines shown below:
1. Pages: minimum four (4) FULL pages in Word format.
2. Sources/Bibliography page MUST be included.
**Minimum four (4) academic/scholarly sources.** Use and cite secondary sources such as books written by professional scholars or accurate/reliable online content such as Encyclopedia Britannica. DO NOT cite Wikipedia or any other non-professional/non-academic websites.
**Parenthetical citations (or footnotes/endnotes) MUST be included.** Please do NOT use the textbook as one of your sources.
3. DO NOT copy and paste any information unless you are quoting it.
4. Spacing: Double-spaced.
5. Font: 12.
6. Submit your work via Canvas (do NOT email it) no later than
7. PLEASE NOTE: Turnitin provides a “matching” score. For example, a score of 20% means that 20% of the submitted assignment matches material in the database and 80% of the text is either original or not in the database. Please keep in mind that Turnitin does not tell what context of outside source materials is used in the paper, therefore the matching score does not necessarily indicate plagiarism (for example, Turnitin does not identify legitimate quoting from outside sources). As a standard rule, an acceptable Turnitin score could be as high as 20%.
**Scores in excess of 20% indicate that the student has misused or relied too much on outside sources. If your score is higher than 20%, please revise your paper.**
8. You will have the opportunity to submit two (2) drafts and check your “matching score” before submitting your final version. Submitting the drafts is optional and will NOT be used for grading purposes. They are there to help you ensure that your final version has a “matching score” of less than 20%. You can view your matching score by going to Week 10, then Assignments, then click View/Complete.
9. NOTE: Submitting papers from/for another course is NOT permitted (even if you were the author of the paper). This act is not considered plagiarism; instead, it is considered cheating resulting in a failed score in the assignment.
10. IMPORTANT: This assignment represents 11% of your total course grade. Please note that for every day that you are late, three percent (3%) of your total course grade will be deducted, so please submit your assignment on time.
