Phase 3: Organizational Operations & Strategies

Paper instructions

Phase 3: Organizational Operations & Strategies
Overview: In this phase you will explore the organization’s operations to help in identifying one or more areas exhibiting weakness or threats for further analysis (consistent with situational analysis in Phase 2). Each item includes a reference to one or more BAS courses so that you can incorporate a discussion of theories or concepts introduced in the program. Also, refer to the resource guide entitled Theories & Concepts Associated with Learning Outcomes (provided with this course) for assistance in recalling or categorizing this information.
This phase will also offer a more in-depth look into the organization’s strategies by evaluating and selecting strategic alternatives as well as including a strategy map. Evaluating all the strategic decisions together provides the “big picture” of where the organization is going and helps to determine whether the vision is truly being achieved. The strategy map provides an overview of the organization’s direction and the basis for the development of effective implementation strategies to carry out the organization’s overall strategy. In the process of evaluating the strategic map, adjustments may be made and the strategies reconsidered. Discussion in this phase should include insight from the situational analysis performed in Phase 2 as well as support for the problem statement.
