Promoting awareness of polypharmacy and its potential consequences is incumbent upon all health professionals.Interview a family member, friend, or patient over the age of 60 about his or her medication use. Ask them to identify all pharmacologic agents (prescription, OTC, and vitamins and supplements) they have used in the past 6 months. Question them about their knowledge of why they are taking each medication; their awareness of possible side effects; and their compliance.In your first post:
