Module 12 Discussion: Songs are Forever

Today should be relatively fun for discussion post. I want you to think about the three Roman poets we discussed for this lesson, namely Catullus, Virgil, and Ovid. Catullus wrote shallow love songs, Virgil wrote great epics, and Ovid wrote comedies and fantastic stories. Today’s assignment is to think of modern media, whether from music or movies, that remind you of each of these authors. For each Catullus, Virgil, and Ovid:

1. Think of a piece of modern music, movie, or book that reminds you of the subject matter that the ancient author wrote about. Copy and paste a youtube link for each of your chosen links.
2. Explain what connections you see between your chosen links and the ancient poet.
3. Do these two things once for all three of the poets
