1. A card is drawn at random out of a well-shuffled deck of 52 cards. Find the probability of the
following events:
a. Draw a two.
b. Draw a spade.
c. Draw either an Ace or King.
d. Draw a five or a red card.
Answer all four parts here. Leave as a fraction. Include an explanation of how you determined
the numerator and denominator.
2. You are rolling two fair six-sided dice. Find the probability of each of the following events:
a. You roll snake eyes (both dice are ones).
b. At least one of the dice is a 3.
c. The sum of the two dice is four.
d. The sum of the two dice is greater than seven.
Answer all four parts here. Leave as a fraction. Include an explanation of how you determined
the numerator and denominator.
3. Your friend is playing battleship with you. In each round you either hit or miss. If you play four
rounds of the game, find the probability of each of the following events:
a. The rounds result in at least two hits.
b. The rounds result in exactly one miss.
c. The rounds result in at most one hit.
d. All rounds have different outcomes.
Hint: Use your sample space from Module 01 #1.

4. At a local high school, there are 210 seniors taking math courses. If there are a total of 319 seniors,
what percentage are taking math courses?
