This is to lead to the second part which will be a SWOT analysis and comparison to a competitor. I hope to use the same tutor next month to continue that part.

retained as an MBA consultant. We will be first analyzing a company including and PESTLE analysis. This
will be in preparation for the second part that we will compare this company with a competitor.
The company that we will be using is Transmedics. They are a medical device company focusing on
creating devices to perfuse organs that will be transplanted. This extends the time available to
transplant and can improve function.

Now that we have explored the organization from a broad perspective within the industry, next we narrow our focus
on “people” and their influence within the organization. That is we want how human resources contribute to the
behavior of our organization in terms of competitiveness. Let’s face it, we can have the best plans but the human
element can turn the organization upside down in a split second, Given that, in this module we explore organizational
behavior, the influence of culture, diversity within the organization, and how leaders mange the human resources to
ensure the organization is successful. As you participate in the threaded discussion, try to see yourself in two
dimensions: (1) the manager of the organization, and (2) a subordinate within the organization. Since we all have to
deal with people somewhere in our life’s journey, this should be a fun module for you, so let’s get busy!
Review the company organizational chart and try to retrieve as much background information as possible on the top
“C” level positions, i.e., CEO, CIO, COO, etc. Is the organizational structure similar to another organization you are
benchmarking? Explain your answer. After reviewing the background information on the C level positions, are there
any related HR issues (positive or negative) in the media, articles, or other external sources? Please share your
findings.
Now that you understand the C-level make up within your organization, investigate the make-up of the people within
the organization (backgrounds, country of origin, etc.). Does your organization demonstrate diversity and/or cross
cultural awareness? Does your organization have any statements regarding diversity in its mission or vision? Again,
share your findings with the class.

The CEO of your organization has asked you to write what you have
learned so far so he can convince the Governing Board that you are
more than worthy of the hefty consultant fees you are receiving. You
have paid me part of your fees to help you get started. Given that,
write a 4- 6 page comparison and contrast paper on your organization
and at least one other similar organization within the industry. This
paper is designed to help you recognize similarities and differences
between organizations, which will position you for the final pay from
the CEO, and MBA 690’s forthcoming modules and final Capstone
assignment. Below are some tips to enhance your paper:
Provide no less than a ½ page and no more than a 1 page
executive summary as the first page of your paper. (Hint: your
executive summary should guide the organization of the rest of
your paper, e.g., XYZ company initial industry analysis to ABC
company
Provide tables and/or graphs in appendices to illustrate key
comparisons in areas such as financials, major differences in
personnel and key leader organizational structure, etc.
Resist internal biases and provide statements/facts supported
by literature. For example, do not provide just positive input
for your organization from your organizations’ website.
Similarly, do not find only negative input from a critic of your
comparative organization.
Cite your sources used within the text and provide the
bibliography in APA style (see APA Style Formatting:
