Leadership Practicum Reflection Journal
Journal Purpose
Reflection is characterized by deep and careful thought. It allows you to make higher level connections between readings, theory, concepts, beliefs, feelings, and your practicum experiences. Reflective journaling provides you with the time and opportunity to think about what you observed, what you did, and how you feel about your experiences.
Guidelines
Reflect on your practicum experiences and discuss one or two situations that presented a significant learning experience for you as a nurse. Thoroughly describe the situation and identify what components stood out to you. How did you deal with the situation? What would you have done differently? Did this situation cause you to change your assumptions or previously held beliefs? How does this situation prepare you for your future role as a BSN prepared nurse?
Please see writing Rubric for Reflective Journals. Journals should be 1-2 pages in length.
