Thank you. II – What must be done? Everything will be done in Simulink
a. Create an 8-bit full adder with overflow using basic logic gates (NOT, AND, OR, XOR, and
their complemented forms). Demonstrate functionality.
BONUS 5% – Create an 8-bit full subtractor with overflow using basic logic gates (NOT,
AND, OR, XOR, and their complemented forms). Demonstrate functionality.
b. Create a PLA, that implements the following functions:
F1 = (0, 3, 5,9)
F2= {(1, 4, 8, 12)
F3 = {(1, 5, 15)
F4 = {(2, 5, 9, 13, 14)
BONUS 5% – Create a 4 to 16 active low output decoder using basic logic gates (NOT,
AND, OR, XOR, and their complemented forms) and demonstrate functionality.
C. Create your choice of flipflop from basic gates. Then encapsulate your design and Create
an 8-bit clocked counter using your flip flop.
III – What must be submitted?
1. All created Matlab functions and Simulink Files that shows the answers for all items
of the assignment. Anything not specified by the assignment may be chosen by the
students.
2. A pdf document with up to 4 pages containing explanations about the assignment
(files, scripts, functions), figures containing explanation about the circuit diagrams
made and other design decisions made during implementation, discussion of topics
covered, and references if necessary.
