it’s discussion question Frist of all – check this out. Here is an article from Ramona, CA – where I used to teach as a HS science teacher 20 years ago. The argument from the school district is that we should be teaching how awesome America is – rather than digging up all of the the ugly stories from the past. If you have not watched this video yet – The danger of the single story- watch it now! Why do we need to study the good and the bad of history? Should we talk about taking the land away from the natives who lived here – or talk about them suffering on reservations? Chimamanda Adichie talks about HOW the story is told – and how that shapes the thoughts of the people who are hearing the story. What do you think? Here is a quote from Snoop Dog about it.
