At the moment marijuana is relevant topic because it has recently become legal in the state of California.
I believe a reader would care about my position because they may discover new information about the benefits of marijuana.
Marijuana is a controversial topic among the states and politicians that have not legalize it yet. The actual effects of marijuana has not been scientifically researched thoroughly, and people have different opinions on it.
The experts on the topic of marijuana would be the providers prescribing, legal businesses that sell it, users, as well as politicians.
4. OPPOSING VIEWS: Describe the evidence and opinions that oppose or
challenge your position. How will you consider these opposing views in
your paper?
There are many opposing opinions on the legalization of this drug. One opposing view would be that marijuana inflicts damage on people with side effects. Another opposing belief is that it affects people’s judgment and skills. Lastly, marijuana might lead people to be open to try other drugs.
In regards to opposing opinions, I believe there is not enough evidence for the assumptions to be 100% accurate. There needs to be more research on the influence side effects, how it affects judgement, and how it may lead to other addictions.
5. List at least one UNSTATED ASSUMPTION connected to your thesis.
An assumption of marijuana is that it greatly impacts one while driving a vehicle, just like drunk driving.
There is not enough evidence for the assumption but, it is still part of the driving under the influence law.
