Indiana University Holocaust Reflection Paper For this week’s writing assignment, I want you to engage in some thoughtful reflection on those primary sources. You may want to consider any of the following sources: assigned primary source readings, photographs taken by perpetrators (particularly in part 1 of the June 3 lecture and part 2 of the June 4 lecture), video clips of survivor testimony, documents collected by Oyneg Shabes (see part 2 of the June 2 lecture), primary sources quoted at length in your textbook, etc. (If you’re not sure whether a source was created by a perpetrator or a victim, please ask me.)In 150–250 words, pick at least two of these sources. One must be a source created by a perpetrator and one must be a source created by a victim. What can we learn about the Holocaust by looking at perpetrator and victim sources? What can these sources tell us about the Holocaust? Some things you may want to consider: what specific type(s) of information can a particular source give us? Do you think one type of source is more valuable than the other? Why or why not?
