One of it in Taif city and it is called Taif EOC and it is an administration that is responsible for coordinating the efforts between Taif’s hospitals and other stakeholders in case of disease outbreaks).

Introduction
A pandemic refers to the outbreak of an infectious disease over a wide region in a given period.
Infectious diseases are considered to be the largest cause of mortality and morbidity across the world. The
outbreak of an infectious disease can take place in any region leading to the death of several people within a
short period. The severity of a disease is determined by several factors in which it may severely affect some
people compared to others. Some of the factors that determine the severity of infectious disease include the
resistance of the body of an individual to the disease, the strain virulence of an infecting organism, age at which
an individual is affected, and the environmental condition where the person lives. When an infectious disease
infects one person, he needs to be separated from other people to avoid the spread of the infecting agent to other
people. Taif Emergency Operation Center is one of the facilities in Saudi Arabia that protects the people of the
Taif city from contracting various infectious diseases such as Corona middle east disease and COVID 19. The
center has carried out several practices to ensure that the people of the region are protected from any
communicable disease when it takes place. Currently, the center has set a plan involving designing 117 isolation
rooms within 15 healthcare facilities in the city to keep individuals who have been infected by disease to reduce
its spread to uninfected people. However, this plan needs to be improved to a level to cope with the most
challenging circumstances.
Statement of Need
It is necessary to make an emergency operations plan for Corona middle east disease and COVID 19 to
know the similarity and differences between them in case of an outbreak. By doing that, the emergency
operation center can set and build entire places aside within the Taif city to host individuals who have been
affected by one of those diseases for all the spread levels and health conditions to minimize the disease’s effect
among the people of Taif city.
Purpose of the Project
The project aims to prepare an emergency operations plan that can be used to prevent the spread of a
particular disease in Taif City in case of an occurrence of an epidemic. The plan will also involve an education
plan among the employees in the Taif Emergency Operations Center to protect them from contracting such
diseases when handling patients.
Description of the Project
The project involves the development of a plan that will be applied in the Taif Emergency Operation
Center in case of an occurrence of an epidemic. The program will ensure that the people who have already been
infected by the disease does not pass it to uninfected people within the region. By reducing the spread of the
disease through the development of the plan, the mortality and morbidity rate of the infection will be reduced,
thus meeting the goal of the project. If the program is not developed, a disease outbreak can cause a large
number of deaths within the region, and therefore it is necessary to create one.

As part of the final work, the product of the project involves developing an EOP and education program
for training and teaching the employees within the center. The employees will be trained on how to handle and
provide various services to the infected people. Besides, the employees will be taught how to take care of
themselves and take precautions to avoid contracting the infectious disease from the patients when handling
them.

For the education program, the severity of the condition is the one that will determine the type of
program that will be developed. For example, if the outbreak of the Corona middle east disease or COVID 19
has taken place, the employees within the Taif Emergency Operation Center will be educated on how to use
various protective equipment such as nose masks to avoid inhaling contaminated air and will know the
differences between them. By so doing, they will be able to provide services to patients without taking any risk.
