Guestology as A Standard for Customer Service Informative Speech Informative Speech (4 – 6 mins speech)

Purpose: You have the opportunity to deliver a speech explaining and describing a relatively complex object, process, or concept, of interest to you and related to your future career or current major, clearly help the audience understand more about it.

This assignment helps you meet the following course objectives:

Effectively explain complicated subjects to non-experts.
Reduce communication apprehension.

Task: In this speech, you will take an in-depth look at a complex concept, process, or object from your major, future career field, or something you are interested in and inform, or explain it to your audience in a clear manner. The goal is to translate an unknown or complicated idea successfully so that the audience can easily understand.

You will take on an expert role by using informative strategies (i.e. teacher). Given the diverse nature of your fellow classmates’ interests, majors, prior knowledge, and experience, you will need to break down that complex information into an easily understandable, informative speech that your audience can readily decipher.

Post your prospective topic in the discussion below. Your topic must be a complex concept, process, or object from your major or future career field to teach your classmates about. In addition to posting your topic, include your 2-4 main points and thesis statement for the speech.
No two students may have the same topic for this speech, so this is on a first come first serve basis.
