PROJECT SCOPE AND SCHEDULE

Project Scope and Schedule
The project charter entails developing a Mobitel mobile device that will use innovative
approaches, and it will also be cheaper by 50% compared to the initial mobile product. The
project will entail several features, such as the phone’s processor, screen size, and the multitouch
interface. The development phase is complete, and the rest of the activities will occur smoothly
and on time. The project will result in a new product that is more competitive and attractive, and
it will ensure that some customers who want a cheaper device will purchase it rather than what is
on offer by competitors. The project seeks to target both Mobitel and android customers while
selling stable and reliable devices. The project will include a diverse array of stakeholders
comprising of employees, suppliers, and the work team.
Scope Statement
Product characteristics and requirements
The project will develop a mobile device that features multiple screen sizes and includes
improved functionality, design, and stability. The UI software of the original Mobile should work
as a custom configuration on top of the user OS. Some of the hardware features required by
customers include multitouch devices, high-resolution screens, and stability.
Product user acceptance criteria
The new screen size and CPU will comprise the significant features that will be
emphasized during the project, and this is the user acceptance criteria that will guide the project.
The project will meet the market demand since the updated device will have new features while
still being sold at a cheaper price.
Project exclusions
Some of the features that are not needed in the current version of the project include;

PROJECT SCOPE AND SCHEDULE

The Work Breakdown Structure includes the activities that will occur during the next
steps of the process, including product hardware and implementation, which will be completed
by September 2020. The rest of the project is slated to be completed by January 12th, 2021.
Critical Path
The critical path activities include product hardware and implementation, which will
entail working with the software to ensure that it works on the hardware and that different parts
of the complete device function as expected. A challenge that can lead to a delay includes bugs in
the software, which can result in issues during the implementation stage. Since the project will
depend on suppliers for parts, a faulty element can be a significant setback for the team. The
issues will be managed by starting the process early so that any issues can be handled in good
time, and this is why product hardware and implementation are planned to finish by September
2020.
Reflection
The most exciting part is preparing the WBS, which provides an overview of a project’s
deliverables. It acts as an excellent graphical presentation of what is expected with the project
and helps determine the steps involved. I would recommend that the best way to succeed when
preparing the project scope and schedule is by researching other forms of WBS for different
types of projects, which can reveal new insights about the kind of information you need to
include.
