Modify the one I already have, but connect it to ethical values. You can modify anything, the research, the topic or sources, as long as it is still about culturally relevant pedagogy and make sure to center it aroung ethical values. Think about what ethical values can be found or needed when using culturally relevant pedagogy. From a teacher’s view think about the questions below. The context may be defined by geographic region (Bandiagara, Mali or Lyons, Colorado), demographic data (low-income rural Americans, Black Baby Boomers ), ideological perspective (Sufi Islam or democratic socialist) or interest group (engineering professors or hip-hop listeners). Which ethical values will you study amongst this group (i.e. perspective-taking, tolerance, authenticity, or objectivity)? How does the community express those values in acts, discourses, or cultural practices? How are these ethical values learned or taught in this particular context? What are the learning environments you would study to see how these values are learned (family life, schools, churches, online spaces, etc)? What types of sources or studies (interview data, ethnographic observations, blogs written by group members) will you consult in your research in order to make sense of the values that this group of people holds sacred or meaningful. Key things: Ethical Values!
