For this assignment, you are going to write a case study that includes the profit status of the EMS agency in your community. It may be fire-based, hospital-based, private, or a third service. Profit status is not an attribute that is obvious, so you may need to research this before beginning. Prepare your case study based on your community attributes and the ability of the agency to meet the community’s needs.
Your case study should address the following areas at a minimum:
Include a history of the agency and a brief description of the size of the agency.
Provide a demographic make-up of the community (e.g., older people vs. younger people/families, heavy commuter group).
Describe the presence or absence of entertainment or tourist type attractions with increased options for sales tax.
Examine reimbursement options for your type of agency.
Discuss management/leadership structure, customer service policies, mission statement/code of ethics, and any injury prevention or risk reduction programs offered by the agency.
Conclude your case study with a recommendation for how the agency could receive additional funding.
Your case study must be at least two pages in length and include at least two outside sources. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment. APA formatting, however, is not necessary.
