Discussions: Structures of Migration

I’m working on a Social Science question and need guidance to help me study.

Discuss the difference between the definitions of “migrant” and “refugee.” Drawing on the lesson content and at least one of the scholarly readings (i.e. either Yarris and Castañeda or Besteman) identify how these definitions and their implications impact the processes and experience of human migration. (Must demonstrate that you read at least one of these in your post).

Students will a) respond to the discussion prompt with one original response (250-350 words) and b) also respond to at least one original post from another student in a substantive manner (100-150 words). By substantive, I mean more than “I agree” or “that’s interesting.” I want you to elaborate: what do you agree with, and why? What specifically is interesting, and why do you think that?
