Some teaching strategies I am planning to use are virtual simulation and small group debriefing sessions. As this semester has transition to primarily online my teaching strategies have also changes and particularly at my field experience site there is current a need for the educators to focus on simulation. Since that is a great learning opportunity and somewhere that I can be of use I am transitioning over slightly to online learning with a focus on simulation.

Some learning objective include:

That students will be able to utilize electronic simulation technology within a simulation session to view a patient EHR and evaluate the clinical scenario for a patient assessment, medication administration, and create a plan of care.

That students will be able to consider their interactions with the simulation session and discuss areas where they struggled and identify areas of growth.

To incorporate content to meet these objectives there are several factors that are currently being considered. I am collaborating with several faculty members on a simulation task force to determine simulation materials that are currently available and evaluating them for appropriateness for several different classes. Consideration is also being taken for best practice for pre-briefing and debriefing methods that will allow the students to obtain the most benefit out of each scenario.
