CSC 350 WilmU Week 3 Conversion Computation App Requirements Project For this week’s lab assignment, you will be developing an app of your own to perform calculations. Before you begin, make sure you review the code that I provided for the Projectile Range Calculator app.

Your app will require you to write HTML and JavaScript code and to use the jQuery and jQuery-Mobile CSS and JavaScript files. If you plan on using the same jQuery files as the textbook, you can use the ones that are located in my Projectile Range Calculator app if that is easiest for you.

As a reminder, be sure to continue to follow the style guidelines. While your HTML files will only have to include a comment at the top with your name, date, assignment title, and brief description of the specific web page (not of the assignment), your JavaScript file will need a comment at the top with your name, date, and assignment title and each function will need a comment describing what it does. Be sure to use clear variable and function names using camel case.

Conversion/Computation App Requirements

The conversion/computation app you develop will have a structure similar to the Projectile Range Calculator app. You can use my code as a template if you just want to modify it, but make sure you understand the code and update names to be descriptive of what you are doing.

Your app needs to perform a conversion/computation of your choice based on user input, excluding projectile calculations and temperature conversions. Some ideas to consider include the following:

Distance Conversion
Weight Conversion
Speed Conversion
Savings Calculator
Velocity Calculator
GPA Calculator
Days to Your Birthday Calculator
Days to a Holiday Calculator

Your app should resemble the Projectile Range Calculator app. Here are reminders of what you need to make sure you include:

You must use jQuery and jQuery-Mobile and include the necessary div tags with their respective data-roles (page, navbar, content, and footer)
HTML file for conversion/computation (index.html)
Include at least one input (and corresponding label) that the user needs to enter.
For numeric inputs ensure you use a min and max that are appropriate based on
Include a button to click that will perform the conversion/computation and update the table
Include a table that displays a confirmation of what the user entered and the converted/calculated value for your app
HTML file for information (information.html)
Include a heading
Provide a brief description about the conversion/calculation your app performs
Be sure to include a brief description of relevant units of measure for your app
Be sure to include the equation that is the basis of your conversion/calculation
JavaScript file for calculation
Need at least one function that gets the values from the input(s) in the app, performs the conversion/calculation, and then updates the table with the respective values. Feel free to break into into two functions like I did in my Projectile Range Calculator app.

You are not required to include pictures or videos, but you may if you would like.

Be sure to test your app and ensure it is fully working. You will submit a zip folder containing all the code for your app. When I un-zip your folder, I should be able to open the index.html file and it will work. I should not need to re-organize, add, or change any files to get it working.

After you submit a working app, feel free to experiment with customizing the look and feel using CSS and/or ThemeRoller tool.
