Commodity Chain of Adidas Clothing Assignment | Essay Help Services

My product is Adidas clothing Your essay should build off of Homework Assignment 2 (review my feedback when it is posted). Write an essay with an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion in which you give an overview of the commodity chain of your product. You need to write about raw material extraction/production, manufacturing/assembly, and waste, but you may also include other dimensions of the commodity chain including design, marketing, transportation, and consumption as relevant to your particular research. Do not just list off information about these various dimensions; dig deeper in your research by looking to news articles and reports and include in your essay information about and analysis of the human dimensions of your commodity chain at various geographic sites and across various aspects. For example, find an article that profiles a key factory related to your product and working conditions there or investigate an agricultural site (specific to your product if you can find it but if not, it can be a generic timber farm for instance) connected to a raw material of your product and discuss who labors to get that raw material, under what kinds of working conditions, etc

  2. Raw materials that Adidas uses are Recycled polyester, organic cotton, polylactic acid, Tencel, and non mulesed wool. These raw materials come from Pakistan, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Most of the raw materials come from local farms in these countries and the working conditions are good but not great. The workers are forced to work long hours because of the low pay they recieve.

  1. One of the Adidas manufacturing sites is in Ansbach, Germany is called the Adidas speed factory. This speed factory is mainly controlled by robots. Adidas has shifted most of its manufacturing from Europe to Asia and now relies on more than 1 million workers in contract factories, mostly in China and India. Around the world there are about 775,000 workers who are mainly women. These workers have long hours with little job security. On top of that, workers get low pay so they are forced to work long hours just to get by.

  1. Adidas is a famous sports and casual clothing that is consumed globally. The demographics include a big target at young consumers between the age of 14-40. The brand isn’t as popular but is still liked by the 40-65 age group. I would say that Adidas serves as a status symbol because it is considered pretty nice clothing. If someone is wearing Adidas people would think that the person wearing it has a good amount of money or knows how to dress very well.
