COMM 554 SFSU Space and Astronomy Alphabet Nonfiction Book Paper We tend to think of Alphabet Books as books for very young children, but their highly structured format makes them useful for sharing information with kids 5 through 13.
Brainstorm ideas for the topic and the featured words. Think of a topic you would like to share with kids in a nonfiction book. Pick a topic you’re passionate about, a topic you’d like to know more about, or a topic that you think — “yep, I could come up with something for all 26 letters with that topic,” or . . . .
Create a rough draft of the book — at least 26 lines — one for each letter.
Then, Write a one paragraph “Note to the illustrator” suggesting what kind of illustrations, what images, purpose, style, etc. you believe would work best for your book.
Post your note to your illustrator, your bibliography of sources (at least three) including a few sentences on why you think each source is credible, and state the age range/grade level of your readers — and give at least three examples from you book that relates to the developmental age as described in the child development charts. And tell us in a few sentence what inspired you to pick your topic.
Blow is how the professor will evaluate on this assignment.
