Child Welfare Issues Description of the Abuse & Neglect Analysis Paper This Case Presentation and Analysis Assignment has two parts as described below:

Part One (Video Presentation/submission)

This part involves a presentation of a video that involves a child welfare issues. The case should be related to or manifestation of child abuse and neglect including physical, emotional, mental, and psychological abuse or child labor abuse, child sex trafficking, child hunger, educational abuse, etc., This video should not be long than 15 minutes.

Part Two (Analysis of Video on Case)

This part involves a 3-page double spaced paper (12 standard font) analyzing and discussing the case as depicted in the video by answering the following questions. Use these questions as your topic leaders/sub-headers in your paper. There should be at least six references made to scholarly books or professional journal articles that are not included in the assigned readings. Questions to Answer in your paper covering the video

Description of the Abuse/Neglect

1. A description of the specific type of abuse/neglect that you are addressing, including prevalence, description, etiology or injury mechanism, common perpetrator characteristics, and injury bio/psychosocial) to the child.

Description of Family History

2. Provide a detailed information pertaining to the family history, the makeup of family members, and income source, if any.

Strengths and Weaknesses of the Family/Child’s Caretakers

3. Strengths and weaknesses of the family/child’s caretakers, child characteristics, general details of the abuse/neglect, and a description of how the abuse/neglect came to the attention of CPS.

Theoretical Intervention Approach

4. Considering the strengths and weaknesses of the family, identify the theoretical intervention approach that you would use to intervene with the child/family and thus address the issue. Examples of intervention theories/approaches include Ecological Approach, Strengths Perspective, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, etc.,

5. Devise an intervention plan/services that would address/prevent the abuse or raise the family’s care of the child (ren) to at least a minimally acceptable level.

Implications for Practice

6. Identify implications for the up and rising social worker of today and tomorrow. This could be a best practice advise or recommendation.
