The purpose of this project is to expose you to leadership theory commonly used in the
industry/setting in which you work or desire to work. One key challenge in theory is
identifying the application in a real-world aspect.
You will need to identify and explore the principals of leadership theories applicable to
your industry/setting. For example, if you identify with the clinic, a few leadership theories
common in this setting include: Servant Leadership, Transformational Leadership,
Collaboration/Meta Leadership Theory, and Shared Leadership Theory. After you explore
multiple theories, identify one that you want to know more in depth. Identify and study
multiple resources about this theory.

If you do not currently have a setting of particular interest, use a community health
agency as your assigned setting.
You have explored enough resources if you feel knowledgeable about the theory. Key
aspects to this assignment include:
1. Access relevant information and data about the theory.
 Look into practices, success, and failures
2. Consider the complexity of the theory and application.
 Understand the context and phenomena
3. Identify barriers due to the difficulty/complexity of the theory.
 Capture perceptions that would create intolerance or acceptance of
theoretical factors.
4. Analyze aspects that would make an individual/group reluctant to adopt theoretical
factors.
 Identify ways that this theory complements other theories.
Create an instructional video presentation on the theory ready to present to
managers/leaders in the setting you identified. The video could be as minimal as a “voice
over PowerPoint” or could be a more extensive presentation at your discretion. You may
upload a video file or link me to a video stream.
You may start with the following outline  Explain the theory and its constructs.
 Utilize pertinent terms
 Give the author(s) credit
 Include a brief history of theory (origination; how it has been
used/transferred to the setting)
 Share a specific observable scenario in which the theory is applied
 Construct a coherent activity to help your audience understand and apply the
theory in their role
 The activity should help participants understand the theory and its
application.
