  1. Bach wrote for every musical genre of his lifetime but opera. Do an internet search (YouTube videos are fine) and find your favorite work by J.S. Bach (which cannot be an example in your notes or text). Include the link to the piece in your essay.  Tell me about the piece you chose:
  • What is the title, key, BWV, date and form (Cantata, Fugue, Suite, Sonata..) ?
  • Why did you choose this piece; what do you like about it over other J.S. Bach works?
  • In what ways do you notice Bach adds decoration or ornamentation to this example? Be specific: where do you hear ornamentation and why do you think it is used?
