Alabama A & M University Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency Memo Memo on Agency Federalism:Each student will select a local government agency to research (city agency, parish agency, or non-profit agency). Each student will prepare a memo on the use of intergovernmental mechanisms including inter-local agreements, networks, and public-private partnerships in planning, funding, and providing a particular service to its citizens. This will also entail interviewing someone from this agency in a position to assess IGR mechanisms (a survey instrument is provided on Moodle).Students select their agency by the end of week two. There will be a link in the assignment folder on Moodle for students to let the instructor know their selected agency. Detailed guidelines are posted on Moodle.Purpose of memo: To expose students to the complex intergovernmental mechanisms used in a local government agency.
