Donor recognition is when you want to recognize the generosity of the donor with a gift. You have to make sure that when you are doing recognition strategies, it has to be an all-year-round thing. There are many ways you can show recognition for Nonprofits. You can call your donor; this helps build connections and establish trust. One other way could be to create a thank you video. By doing this, you can share it publicly.

Two strategies for donor recognition are public and private( Flynn & Tuomi, 2017). If you wanted to show appreciation, privately, you could do it with Personal letter, phone call, email Appreciation Events, Meeting with key constituents directly benefiting from the donor’s generosity, small personalized gifts, photos ( Flynn & Tuomi, 2017). Public appreciation could be when you use Multiple donors, broad audience, Awards Plaques, and Testimonials.

How they contribute to successful fundraising strategies is by keeping the donor interested and excited, and sometimes that isn’t always easy. Donor recognition can go a long way because it shows that they’re appreciated. It also indicates the type of connections, the volunteer roles, and all that they do within the nonprofit, anniversaries of substantial donations, birthdays, special interests, upcoming opportunities, and invitations that might provide the manager or leadership team donor-institution experience.
