For this assignment, i need a rough draft by Friday, May 29th and a final draft by June 5th . I am going to set the time limit for 9 days but i really need the rough draft by this Friday. This will be one paper on growing up as a single child with a single mom but the requirements ask for a rough draft by Friday, May 29th. I have plenty of sources that can help guide this paper that i can send. Below is what i have copied and pasted from the teacher.
Rough Draft requirements:
The only requirements of this draft are that it be in essay form or something that resembles the form your final project will take (not bullet points or notes – although you may include these in addition to the minimum writing requirement if you wish), it must be at least 3 full pages, and you must incorporate at least two sources, which must be properly cited, both in-text and in a Works Cited page (which should be in addition to your 3-4 pages of writing). Is submitted to your peer review group on time (May 29th by 11:59pm) – Is at least 3 full pages (to the bottom of page 3) or equivalent, depending on the project style – Is formatted according to MLA document formatting guidelines, or other appropriate format, depending on the project style – Is double spaced in 12pt Times New Roman Font, or other appropriate format, depending on the project style – Incorporates at least 2 sources cited properly in MLA format and includes a Works Cited list (not included in 3 page minimum) – Draft and Responses are in the spirit of the assignment (draft is heading in the direction of a research paper focused on your topic of choice).
Here are the requirements for the final paper:
For this essay you will choose one aspect of your own identity that you would like to further explore. There are many many options for what topic you might choose. You are welcome to choose an aspect of identity that we have discussed in class, such as your writing identity, your race (including your white identity, if applicable), your gender or sexuality, your identity within your family or relationships, or aspects of your body or mind. You may alternatively choose to explore an aspect of your identity that we have not discussed in this class. Some options are your identity as a student, your identity within the work force, your identity as an athlete, your identity within your family culture, among many others. You might choose to explore a part of yourself that is deeply important to you, or you might explore a part of your identity that you haven’t thought much about and want to learn more about. No matter what, however, you must choose a singular aspect of your identity to explore. While multiple aspects of our identity may certainly intersect, you should not focus on multiple aspects of your identity, or your identity in general all at once. Once you have chosen a topic to explore, you will conduct research on this topic in order to collect evidence of what this aspect of identity means to people in general or to others specifically, the goal of which will be to help you better articulate what this identity means to you. You should look for the types of readings that we have done about identity in this class – readings from a variety of reputable sources, both popular and academic, that address a variety of perspectives of the topic that you choose (for example, both first-hand and secondary accounts). Finally, you will create a project of your choosing which will allow you to explore your chosen aspect of your identity, and the research that you have done about it, through writing. Similar to the Writing Process Essay, how you approach this project is up to you, but here are a few possible options: The Formal Research Paper: Write a traditional research paper exploring the aspect of identity that you have chosen. Your paper should have a purpose or argument and should not simply be a summary of your sources. You may or may not reference yourself or your own experiences, but your focus should be on some aspect of your topic that is personally important to you. Is turned in on time (June 10th by 11:59pm) or within an arranged extension – Is at least 6 full pages (to the bottom of page 6) and no more than 8 full pages – Is formatted according to MLA document formatting guidelines – Is double spaced in 12pt Times New Roman Font – Sources are properly cited in MLA format both in-text and in an MLA Works Cited list. – Is in the spirit of the assignment (focuses on an aspect of your own identity, uses research to support and expand on your own ideas). – While grammar may not always be perfect, the essay has been edited for typos and obvious mistakes
