The Role of Ethics in the Entrepreneurial Venture
Written Assignment – The Role of Ethics in the Entrepreneurial Venture
An up-close photo of the word “ethics” in a dictionary. The definition is listed but is blurry.
The role of ethics in the business world has gained increased attention in recent years. There is a growing recognition that what is legal is not necessarily what is ethical, and that what is ethical is not bounded by legality. In the business world, as it becomes increasingly global and diverse, the role of ethics and morals becomes increasingly complex. There are a number of different perspectives from which to address the question of ethics, and these should be considered in looking at the role of the small business.
Please watch the following Stanford videos with Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard Company (HP), as she emphasizes the importance of ethics and describes ways to gauge the ethical “temperature” of an organization.
