There are some Indications for using this type of therapy, it that it has proven to have a therapeutic effect in depression. It is a valuable complement to current antidepressive therapy. Amnesia signs: client quickly forgets, the client is emotional: inability to control his/her feelings, a client who experiences social withdrawal, dramatic changes in the eating or sleeping habits, excessive anxiety in the patient, and an inability to cope with the daily challenges.

The modality for modeling sculpture I would apply is for an individual. Working with the client help explore challenges and identify the aspect of themselves and their lives. The amount of time that I will use with my client will depend on the intensity of his need or requirements.

Material for use; a silent room, artificial clay, ruler, paper, table, and chair, basin, lab coats water, and soap.

The goal for this activity therapy is to; engage the patient in the activity to increase the patient’s cognitive abilities. It always serves as a way of depressed individuals to open up concerning their sufferings, to find out the various emotions that the patient will be exhibiting during the session, Accelerating healing process in the patient, to develop awareness in the patients in terms of making choices and decisions. Improve the ability of the patient to follow the prescription given by various health acre officers.

The fits’ of the therapy is that it can be repeated every two weeks. It less intense and requires more composure when dealing with depressed people. The activity should last at least one hour.

This activity would better apply to a population of young adolescents who are suffering from depression or mental illness. Because of the inner struggles they have and the external pressure from society, a large population of teens is likely to suffer depression and mental illness. According to from 2008 research, half of the population suffering from mental illness are adolescents.

Caution is trying not to push the patient to direct questioning that may hurt his feelings. Caution is not trying to show signs that the patient is sick, or you are sympathetic about his situation. Another caution is that the patient may not respond as expected to the activity. The patient might also be aggressive and violent during the activity that may cause physical harm.

I would ask the patient to build a sculpture that says something about them. Then without them knowing to compose a song. Asking the patient what their likes and dislikes are during the activity. Something patient would want me to know about them. I would also make my own sculptured to show solidarity. The type, shape, size, and color of the patient will reflect me their emotions and perception of the meaning of life. Once the done with sculpturing is done, I would ask the question like. What is the title they give to their object? Asking what each color he chose represent? What is the sculpture’s favorite meal? What does sculpture love? And what does it not like, and why? What does the sculpture want the world to know about it? Who is the sculpture’s favorite friend? I will ask any relevant questions that will pop in mind. At the end of the question, I will have a song about the sculpture that will excite my client. I will sing a song to my patients and watch their reaction. This exercise can be redone in the future sessions to evaluate or asses the changes in the adolescent over time.

Variation in this activity therapy should be considered. Things might not turn out as expected, and one should be able to have alternative options.

The power of modeling as a therapeutic activity is enormous. It mainly works very well for mentally disordered individuals. It is not always that this activity works for every patient: Finding the positive out of a mentally ill person results in several positive long term effects. Understanding of those depressing events will be crucial to enhance resilience and self-acceptance in the patient. Adolescents have trouble in trying to respond to their emotions and issues of an identity crisis. Through this modeling of sculpture, their emotional skill is strengthened and their ability to express themselves to other people. The ability to create an engaging conversation with the patient serves to understand and formulating better treatment programs.
